As you get older you may find that you become less fussy about eating fruit and veg than you were as a child. But the reality is, most people still struggle to intake as much of these foods as they should. The good news is, it’s actually really easy to sneak more fruits and veggies into your diet. Just take a look at our top tips below.

1. Enjoy smoothies and soups

Both smoothies and soups are full of blended goodness and undeniably delicious. They are quick and easy to make and enable you to incorporate a wide range of fruits or veggies all in one go. They are also a great way to consume super foods you may otherwise dislike, as the mixture of flavours can mask the tastes you don’t usually enjoy.

2. Eat more at breakfast

Breakfast is known to be the most important meal of the day, so what better time to take in a boost of healthy eating? Adding fruit to cereal, oatmeal or yogurt is quick to do and adds a burst of flavour to your breakfast. For a savoury option, add chopped peppers, onion or tomato to an omelette.

3. Add vegetables to everyday meals

Many of your day to day meals could incorporate more veggies. Curries, chilli, spaghetti bolognese and lasagne are all easily enhanced with extras such as spinach, tomatoes, onions, peppers and carrots.

4. Prepare healthy snacks

When you are hungry it is only too easy to reach for an unhealthy snack. Preparing healthy snacks in advance makes it easier to resist temptation. Sticks of carrot and cucumber are refreshing and tasty, and so is sliced fruit. By preparing these snacks in advance, you eliminate the need to reach for something quick and unhealthy.
